Ode to Sheena

--

What I knew about your kind

Before I met you

Could have fitted on the smallest post it note

When I first laid eyes on you

I thought you were a giant

But no

You are a delicate little girl

You speak to me in squeaks and little yips

You twist your elegant glossy self

Into a pretzel

And sigh

I hope contentedly

You love a pat

And I love to pat you

You are both friendly

And shy

Lazy

And a whirling dervish

You stare at me so intently

It seems you can see inside my head

I love the way you make

Multiple locations

Into your. special bed

What I definitely know

Is I could never be without you now

My greyhound girl
